Location notes
Chertsey is on the line linking the London Waterloo to Reading line at Virginia Water with the main line to Basingstoke at Weybridge.
Railway type and traffic
There is a regular half-hourly local service from London Waterloo to Weybridge via Chertsey. There is also the occasional freight and engineers working.
Environment
The location is a quiet footbridge on a footpath on the edge of Chertsey. There is a school nearby.
Road directions
From the M25, junction 11:
Head east along the A317, then turn north onto the A318 towards Chertsey. Just as you enter the built up area, there is a church on the left, with a mini-roundabout ahead. The footpath leads alongside the church.

Parking
Parking on the main road is restricted, and next to the church is for Cemetery visitors only. It is best to turn left after the mini-roundabout and find parking on one of the residential roads.
Public transport
From Chertsey station, turn left, then right into Station Road. Continue, past a pub, to the end where the road turns left into Highfield Road with the school on the right. Continue to the main road at the end, turning left, then turn left again by the church and continue down the lane and footpath to the footbridge.
